Read some of the positive words our patients and their families have shared with us.

I highly recommend this facility for intensive rehabilitation support on the road to recovery. From the first week my Dad arrived at the West Hartford Health and Rehabilitation Center, we felt he was in good hands, especially with 24/7 supervised skilled nursing care. After suffering a stroke, a subsequent seizure and bad fall which caused a fracture in his neck and several other issues, our father required intensive rehabilitation as well as emotional support. The services provided at WHHR were comprehensive and overall excellent, and communications by the medical team with family were frequent and responsive to our needs. Even the front desk receptionists were always cheerful and helpful and willing to go the extra mile. Staff also helped us navigate the complex insurance coverage issues, especially in the time of COVID-19. They advocated for our father’s needs, which was very beneficial, and scheduled appointments with specialists as needed. The lead physical therapist was a true professional who cared about my Dad’s progress and never gave up on him. The social worker took time to visit with our father to make sure he understood what was happening to him as his recovery progressed and decisions regarding finances and future care needed to be made. For all of these reasons, my Dad was able to make progress and transition to an assisted living facility after seven weeks at WHHR.

It was fun and satisfying to be at the nursing home. In just 3 weeks I have made a marvelous recovery. The staff is like one big family. The nursing home is kept very clean. The staff really care about giving good service to the patients.

You have a wonderful place I’m safe & secure here. Thank you.

Keep up the great work – esp. rehab! I was able to walk again with a walker (could not walk well when I got there!)

I would highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking a nursing home or rehab facility. I can’t thank them enough. Should I have the need, there is only one place I would go, if they have the room for me.

All in all, I found my stay to be enjoyable and effective, in as much as I appear to be cured and reasonably healthy and active for a 90-year-old man.

From the evening I arrived, I was led to feel like I was part of a family or a very welcome guest.

The permanent nurses assigned to my ward and their aides were very attentive and responsive to my needs.

The activity committee is to be commended for their efforts to provide a variety of activities through the week and seeking out residents not otherwise active and encouraging them to become involved.
