Therapeutic Recreation

At West Hartford Health & Rehabilitation Center, individuals are encouraged to maintain an active lifestyle. Under the direction of our Recreation Director, recreation programs are abundant and diverse… and promote "good, old-fashioned fun."
Many families are delighted to visit and find their loved one doing activities they have enjoyed all their lives, but may have gotten away from in recent years. Or, families are surprised to find loved ones trying something new - perhaps oil or watercolor painting for the first time, or even a class of Tai Chi. Individual preferences and needs are always considered.
Check out our recreation calendar, posted monthly on this web site.
Our Recreation Department is always happy to try to accommodate special interests, and often recruits the help of people with knowledge of the special interests. We also have the help of talented community volunteers with varied backgrounds who help to enrich our residents' quality of life.
Our activities include, but are not limited to:
- Art classes
- Exercise classes
- Religious services
- Intergenerational activities

- Lectures
- Library on Wheels
